Saw this new forum on Twitter and as have been a Campsite Directory user for a few years though would post a problem I have with my motorhome here.
I have a Magnum Explorer motorhome which is on a Citroen C25 base.
There are a couple of problems I need to fix as it is too big for my needs now as it is 24 ft long and a 5 berth and the kids are all grown up now so I need to get these fixed and sell it to get something smaller to fit my current needs.
The Speedo
I couple of years back the gearbox seized after I tried to climb an extremely steep hill and overheaded the gearbox in the process. I sourced a reconditioned gearbox which is all fine but the speed does not move (register any speed).
The cable may have broken possibly when the gearbox seized or maybe the garage that fixed it forgot to reconnect something installing the new reconditioned gearbox?
Any ideas firstly how I can easily test what the problem is, i.e. the cable, the speedometer in the dashboard or in the connection to the gearbox?
If this could be the speedo cable any suggestions of good places I can order a replacement speedo cable from and are they easy to fit? Hints and tips please.
If the problem is in the speedometer in the dashboard any suggestions of good places I could get a replacement speedometer for a Citroen C25 Magnum Explorer motorhome.
Help appreciated to get this fixed and back on the road.

Hi Freddy I have a Citroen C25 base.motorhome it was a popular base back in the 1990s mine is still going strong. This link about the C25 engines I found helpful also known as the Talbot Express. The Citroen C25 and Talbot Express motorhomes are virtually identical other than the badging. Part numbers are the same on both which is handy to know when searching the internet for parts or talking to garages or mechanics about repairs. Not had to fix the speedo yet myself but maybe someone else can help with the speedo advice here on the forum. Am going to follow this forum chat myself as would be handy to know! best, Mike

Hey Freddy, There is a Talbot Express owners club on the web. Mike's comment about the Citroen C25 and the Talbot Express sharing parts and being near on identical is spot on. I search the TOC forum for you an came up with this link about your Citroen C25 speedo not working problem. Hope that helps. If you are a Talbot Express motorhome owner (or Citroen C25 base) the Talbot Express Owners Club is free to join and runs a pretty go forum online. Hope helps... Cheers CamperMan

Just found a great source (and really helpful too) for Talbot Express and Citroen C25 speedo cables... Dan Perkins at Talbot Express Speedo. Without people like this sources parts for our older motorhomes would be so difficult. Finally my Citroen C25 Speedo is on the brink of repair Phew...
